Overview

The Cisco Trust & Compliance team is searching for a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with a strong background in front-end and back-end technologies to join our dynamic team. We are seeking an experienced Cloud engineer with 4-6 years of experience in software development using JavaScript, Python and Go.

What You’ll Do
The ideal candidate will possess 4-6 years of hands-on experience working with a modern technology stack, including React, Node.js, JavaScript, Python, Go, PostgreSQL, and a solid understanding of UI/UX design (particularly using Material UI and CSS).

In this role, you will play a key part in the development and optimization of cloud-based applications, building and automating dashboards and contributing to our growing cloud infrastructure. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the functionality and performance of the system by leveraging AI/ML for automation.

Who’s On Your Team
“It starts with Trust!” There has never been a better time to be a member of the Security & Trust Organization (S&TO) at Cisco. The company, customers and shareholders are increasingly aware of the role security, trust, data protection and privacy play in achieving impactful business objectives. Security is not only imperative to mitigating cyber risk, but also a key pillar of Cisco’s differentiation in the market. Trust is an accelerator for our customers that allows innovation and success to happen at the speed the market demands.

Within S&TO, Cisco’s Trust and Compliance team is responsible for ensuring Cisco’s portfolio meets the cybersecurity compliance and certifications required to access markets around the world while simultaneously providing security assurances to our customers. Our team plays a leading role in understanding customer needs for security, privacy, data protection, and customer data management; informing, supporting, and collaborating with customers, Cisco Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Government Affairs and Legal; and building industry leading trust and transparency through security and compliance engineering.

Who You Are
This dynamic role requires a technical background, an organized, meticulous demeanor, and a results-oriented approach.
  • A passionate Cloud Engineer with 4-6 years of experience, focused on building cutting-edge, scalable cloud-based solutions.
  • Skilled in React, Node.js, Python, Go, and PostgreSQL, with the ability to work across the full tech stack.
  • Experienced in creating dynamic dashboards using modern UI frameworks like Material UI and CSS.
  • Knowledgeable in AI/ML for automation and optimization, constantly looking for ways to integrate these technologies into your work.
  • A strong problem solver who loves tackling complex technical challenges and finding creative, efficient solutions.
  • Highly collaborative, valuing communication and working seamlessly with cross-functional teams to create high-performing systems.
  • Committed to continuous learning and growth, always seeking new ways to enhance your skills and stay up to date with the latest technologies.
  • Driven by the desire to build impactful systems that make a difference, whether it's in cloud infrastructure, dashboards, or automation.
You love a challenge. You've always got your teammates back, and you're inspired by working with others to achieve success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work across the stack, utilizing React for front-end development and Node.js, Python, and Go for back-end development.
  • Design and implement efficient, scalable database schemas in PostgreSQL.
  • Develop dynamic and interactive dashboards using modern front-end frameworks (React + Material UI) and integrate data-driven features from back-end systems.
  • Implement automation solutions by integrating AI/ML models for performance tuning, data processing, and workflow automation.
  • Manage code versions and ensure collaborative coding practices using Git. Participate in code reviews and implement CI/CD best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with both cloud infrastructure and application code. Optimize code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Work closely with front-end and back-end developers, as well as data scientists and UX/UI designers to create seamless user experiences.
  • Create detailed technical documentation and runbooks for deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications:
  • 4-6 years of experience in cloud engineering, application development, and automation.
  • Proficient in JavaScript (React, Node.js), Python, Go, and familiarity with PostgreSQL.
  • Strong experience with Material UI, CSS, and creating intuitive, user-friendly dashboards.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS Azure).
  • Experience integrating AI/ML models into cloud-based applications for automation purposes.
  • Strong experience with Git, versioning tools, and collaboration in a multi-developer environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in both cloud infrastructure and software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud-native applications.
  • Experience working in an agile or scrum development environment.

Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
