The Role

Infrastructure Architects serve as the crucial link between Kyndryl and our clients. In this technical leadership role, you will unite and guide stakeholders from clients, governance, and project executives to delivery teams, and occasionally, the vendors collaborating with the client. Your involvement spans the entire project lifecycle—from understanding requirements and devising optimal technical solutions at the outset to ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of the final product.

We seek an experienced AWS and Azure Networking Cloud SME/Architect with a specialization in troubleshooting complex cloud networking issues, rather than designing or implementing architectures. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in AWS cloud networking and a strong working knowledge of Azure networking with a proven history of diagnosing and resolving network performance, connectivity, and security issues across cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AWS networking, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution for issues related to VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Global Accelerator, Route 53, and PrivateLink.

• Address Azure networking challenges, including Virtual Network (VNet), ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Load Balancers, and hybrid connectivity issues.

• Diagnose and resolve network latency, packet loss, and performance bottlenecks in cloud and hybrid environments.

• Monitor and optimize network performance by analyzing traffic flows, security groups, NACLs, and routing configurations to ensure high availability and security.

• Collaborate closely with cloud security teams to mitigate network vulnerabilities, troubleshoot DDoS attacks, firewall misconfigurations, and security group conflicts.

• Automate troubleshooting workflows using AWS CloudWatch, AWS Lambda, Python scripting, and Terraform.

• Provide technical guidance and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major network incidents and develop post-mortem reports with recommendations for future prevention.

• Maintain clear documentation and knowledge bases for troubleshooting steps, network topology, and best practices.

As an Infrastructure Architect, you will leverage your extensive talent and experience. This role demands technical leadership, vision, expertise, and the ability to guide each project to success. Acting as the subject matter expert to the client, you will engage early in the process, gather inputs, understand their needs, define feasible solutions from Kyndryl, design the best solution for the job, and lead the tech implementation.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in networking, with at least 6 years focused on AWS cloud networking and Azure cloud networking.

• Deep expertise in AWS networking, including VPC Peering, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, AWS WAF, Global Accelerator, and Elastic Load Balancing.

• Strong troubleshooting experience in Azure networking, including Azure Virtual Network (VNet), ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, and Azure Load Balancer.

• In-depth understanding of networking protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IPsec, DNS, and Load Balancing.

• Expert-level knowledge of hybrid cloud networking architectures, including on-premises to cloud connectivity, multi-cloud networking, and SD-WAN solutions.

• Hands-on experience with packet analysis tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and network flow analysis tools.

• Proficiency in automation and scripting using Python, Terraform, and AWS Lambda to enhance troubleshooting capabilities.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve cloud networking issues efficiently.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams in high-pressure situations.

• AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

• CCNA & CCNP or equivalent networking certifications
