Job Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Android QA Engineer to join our talented mobile development team. As an Android QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our Android applications. You will work closely with the development team to identify, report, and resolve issues, as well as contribute to the overall improvement of our software development processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of Android applications to identify and report bugs, usability issues, and performance bottlenecks. Ensure that the applications meet high-quality standards and align with business requirements.
- Automated Testing: Develop and maintain automated test suites to efficiently validate critical functionalities of the applications. Familiarity with testing at different levels of the test pyramid (unit, integration, and UI testing) is essential.
- Asynchronous Code and Coroutines: Utilize your experience with Kotlin Coroutines to test and validate asynchronous code implementations, ensuring smooth and error-free user experiences.
- Multi-Module Environment: Work in a multi-module Android project setup and perform testing to verify the correct integration and functioning of different modules.
- REST API Testing: Validate the interaction of Android applications with backend services by testing HTTP requests and responses to consume REST APIs effectively.
- UI Development and Custom Views: Verify the implementation of UI components and custom views in accordance with design guidelines, including Material Design principles.
- Database Testing: Leverage your familiarity with database technologies, such as Realm, to test data persistence and retrieval processes effectively.
- Dependency Injection: Familiarity with Dependency Injection frameworks like Dagger will be valuable in understanding and testing dependency injection setups in the codebase.
- Kotlin Navigation: Verify the implementation of Kotlin Navigation to ensure smooth navigation flows within the Android applications.
- Code Quality and Maintenance: Collaborate with developers to maintain and improve code quality by writing and executing both unit and UI tests using tools like Espresso and Roboelectric.
- Clean Architecture (Optional): Knowledge or experience with Clean Architecture will be advantageous in understanding the project's architectural principles and ensuring code adherence to best practices.
- White-Label Environment (Optional): If you have experience working within a white-label environment, you can help ensure that the applications are correctly configured for different clients.
- Subscription Products (Optional): Experience with subscription-based products will be a plus, especially in testing payment flows and subscription management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience in Android QA, with a focus on testing mobile applications in a professional environment.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and Android Studio.
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines.
- Experience working in a multi-module Android project setup using Gradle.
- Understanding of HTTP and experience in testing REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Material Design principles for UI development.
- Knowledge of database technologies, particularly Realm.
- Familiarity with Dependency Injection frameworks, preferably Dagger.
- Experience in writing and executing unit and UI tests using Espresso and Roboelectric.
- Understanding of Kotlin Navigation for managing app navigation.
- Optional: Knowledge or experience following Clean Architecture.
- Optional: Experience in a white-label environment or working with subscription products.
