As a Software Engineer 4, you will be a key player in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge networking products. You'll have the opportunity to understand, implement the end-to-end testing workflow at technology area, platform/product levels and opportunity to work with industry’s best subject matter experts . Your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities, from Test strategy, planning and execution. Opportunity to solve complex issues through AI/ML that benefit our end customers.

Group Description:

Join our dynamic team responsible for driving technology leadership in Juniper's renowned products, including MX, PTX and ACX series, which are deployed in some of the world's largest service providers, data centres and enterprise networks. The AWAN(Automated WAN ) group plays a pivotal role in Juniper's growth by consistently delivering market-leading products marked by continuous innovation and impeccable execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Testing: Developing holistic and long-term testing solutions for our networking products, contributing to their overall quality and performance

High-Quality Debugging: Showcase your exceptional debugging skills, precisely ascertaining the reasons for failures and distinguishing between software bugs and other issues.

Technical Assessment: Assess regressions and Pre-commit testing from all technical angles, identifying opportunities for improvements.

End-to-End Testing: Demonstrate a deep understanding of Pre-Commit and regression testing workflows at various technology levels and across different platforms and products.

Complex Issue Resolutions: Leverage your experience and capabilities to solve intricate testing challenges, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Result Reporting Enhancement: Restructure result reporting mechanisms to enhance their value and comprehensiveness, instilling confidence in our customers regarding the quality of our products.

Collaborative Analysis: Collaborate effectively with Development and Test Teams to analyse test coverage, identify gaps, and efficiently debug technical issues.

JUNOS/EVO Experience: While not mandatory, prior experience with JUNOS/EVO and CI/CD/Pre commit/Regression environment is highly desirable.

Root Cause Analysis: Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for the customer found SW PRs and implement corrective actions.

Test Automation Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in test automation frameworks, tools, and scripting languages, including Python and Go.

Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert in emerging technologies and trends, providing guidance and mentorship to team members to facilitate their understanding and adoption of new tools and methodologies. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electronics & Communication or Electrical Engineering(CS/ECE/EE)
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in product testing, with emphasis on L2/L3 protocols, Platform and Subscriber services testing.
• In-depth understanding of the OSI Model and the TCP/IP protocol suite, including ARP, IP, ICMP, IGMP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, and FTP.
• Working experience with routing protocols such as ISIS, OSPF, BGP, QoS, Firewall, Multicast, MPLS, VPLS, Layer-2 and Layer-3 VPNs, EVPN and VXLAN.
• Knowledge in artificial intelligence, data mining, and machine learning to effectively address complex challenges through automated solutions.
• Expertise in Python and Go scripting language, with the ability to handle complex automation tasks.
• Prior work experience with continuous integration & delivery, dev testing would be value add.
• Possession of Juniper or networking certifications would be a valuable asset.
• A solid grasp of testing concepts, including metrics and the defects lifecycle.
• Proficiency in traffic equipment like IXIA and Spirent.
• Strong analytical skills for effective debugging and issue isolation.
• Self-motivated with outstanding interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and testing assignments efficiently.
• A team player with excellent collaboration skills.
